J.D. Strouth Files Candidacy for

State Representative in House District 75

Today, Evansville resident J.D. Strouth filed his candidacy for State Representative in House District 75 against 34-year incumbent Dennis Avery.  Strouth is the second Republican to file candidacy papers seeking to replace Avery this year.

At the time of his filing, Strouth noted that it is time to move past old-style politics.  “Career politicians and party-line voting reflect the political games of yesterday.  I intend to offer a true conservative voice for Southern Indiana that will stand up to insiders and special interests.”

Strouth graduated from Georgetown College in 1984 with double majors in political science and business administration/economics.  He has worked for Product Acceptance and Research (PAR) in Evansville for 17 years.

Strouth has been married to his wife Gloria for almost 22 years.  They have one son, Joshua, who is 18 and plans to graduate from North High School in May and attend University of Southern Indiana this fall.

He also pointed out that the current State Representative no longer fully represents the views of the district.  “Just because we have a part-time representative doesn’t mean he should represent us just part of the time.  After 34 years, it’s time for a change,” Strouth declared from the Statehouse.
