Why I Am Running
While earning the rank of
Eagle Scout many years ago, I permanently had instilled in me the desire
to serve others.
An opportunity for public service opened up this year with the passing
of a member of the Knight Township Board, Tom
Shetler Sr., who was well respected in the
community. I declared my interest in the vacancy and was unanimously
selected by a caucus of Republican Precinct Committeemen on January 23,
2010, and took the oath of office three days later. We elected officers
of the board for 2010 at my first board meeting on February 18. I soon
realized there were character problems in the Knight Township office. On
March 11, the Knight Township Trustee resigned amidst scrutiny, and the
board requested an audit by the state. I am offering myself to the
voters as someone they can trust to serve on the Knight Township Board.
